Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
According to Dr. Timothy Brantley, most health problems are not caused by genetics or germs but by the standard American diet. Drawing on Brantley's groundbreaking research and his years of working with nutritional healing, The Cure contains a revolutionary step-by-step program that can flush toxins out of the body, restore balance, promote natural healing, and increase vitality.

2 out of 5 stars An Informercial for his products   December 9, 2008
Let me save you the money of buying this book. It's basically an infomercial for Dr. Brantley's products. At first, the book will pull you in. I literally couldn't put it down because I was fascinated by the countless stories of people who were getting sick on the standard American diet and were cured by Dr. Brantley's experiments. The book seems to be written by a ghost writer, as the style seems very familiar...

While I do believe in what his general message is - the standard American diet is what is making us sick and the medical industry is big business - this is all old hat.

What the book recommends is that you basically eat nothing but raw organic foods, take herbal supplements, and detox (this colonics or enemas). Again, old hat. Better yet, you need to buy all of his products in order to do so.

While I agreed with the author's message, he didn't provide enough tools in the end to achieve these goals. The book is 90% compelling story with 10% advice and advertisements.

When you get real information about how to improve your health, you will find at least 50% of the book dedicated to giving you step by step guidelines. Take any of the books by Dr. McDougall and his program. Or Dr. Dean Ornish. Or Dr. Andrew Weil. They explains with science why the standard american diet is killing us. The remaining half of their books contain detailed steps and recipes to heal your body.

Whereas, with The Cure, you are given a very small handful of recipes and advice to "Check out my website" to learn more. Kevin Trudeau does similar things. Also, it really bothered me that the book never gets into the part where Dr. Brantley becomes a doctor. It seems that he just "went to college", but it never mentions how he studied health and became a doctor.

However, there is science in these books. Brantley refers to countless experts who have done their research and filled their books with facts. But in Brantley's case, he only refers to these "studies" or "findings" if only to support his stories.

Save your money and buy a raw foods "cookbook". Detox your body. And feel better.

5 out of 5 stars Book   August 27, 2008
After seeing this book on TV, I searched for it online. It has some great things in it.

3 out of 5 stars OK   June 1, 2008
I saw him on the Rachel Ray show and so I bought the book. It did have some good info. in the book but, in my opinion it it just unreasonable to follow "the program" for anyone who has a family or a life in general.

5 out of 5 stars One of the most beneficial books I have ever read   May 25, 2008
Reading this book changed my life. I wondered why I hadn't read it sooner. It is very well written and I think that everyone in America should read it. Even if you don't change your diet, at least, everything you put in your mouth, you are doing so, informed. I changed my diet about half way through and went totally raw. Which is not recommended, and I may have had an easier time of it had I done as suggested. But, my vision has improved, I have much more energy, I don't get sick. I feel more connected with nature and actually, this is what my body has been waiting for, for 32 years.

5 out of 5 stars Thanks Dr. Brantley - I have been telling all my friends   April 2, 2008
Easy to read and follow (read in 3 days) I found this book accidentally (library search - health, detox, etc) & ended up buying it right away. I was sick of feeling sick and tired all the time. Much of what he writes about a friend and former colleague of mine (pharmacist, naturalist, and nutritionist - I know what a combo, couldn't decide what she wanted to be when she grew up) taught me many of the things (sprouted nuts, processed foods & the effects, etc) I have been sharing with friends. It is not easy to break old habits that have been engrained since birth so I am not saying it will be easy but if you are committed to be healthy and feeling better, stick to it, take it slow so you make it a part of your daily routines you will see a difference. I saw the other reviews that talk about him promoting his products. Oh course he will tell you about his products, they are a part of the program. But he also tells you in the text that you can get similar herbal products from natural foods stores. I went on his web site (there's all kinds of free info, health evaluations, suggestions, recipes, etc) I emailed a question about a product I recently saw and the very same day someone called me back!!! This has never happened before. They genuinely seem to care and did not push any products or try to sell me anything.
